My First Business Plan
One page from idea to profit. Fill it in before you spend a dollar. Ages 7–13.
1. The idea
My business is called:
I’m selling:
What makes mine worth buying:
2. The customers — who actually wants this?
The people who’ll buy it:
Where I’ll find them:
3. Test it before you build it. Ask five real people:
“Would you buy this? What would you pay?” Write what they actually
say — not what you hoped they’d say.
1. would pay $
2. would pay $
3. would pay $
4. would pay $
5. would pay $
4. What it costs me

5. The maths
My price, each
Cost to make, each
= Profit, each
If I sell
= Total profit
6. The profit plan — decide now, before the money exists

For the grown-up: resist the urge to fix their numbers. A plan
that’s slightly wrong and entirely theirs teaches more than a perfect one
you wrote. If the five people in step 3 said no — that’s a
successful test, not a failure. It cost five conversations instead of an
allowance.
